PDA and getting started
What is PDA and who is it for?
PDA (Project Delivery Assistant) is developed for students and teams that want to manage project delivery in a shared workspace. You can track project information, success criteria, teams, tasks and calendar items.
What features does PDA have?
PDA includes project creation, members and project roles, teams, success criteria, tasks (list, board and task pool), sprints, labels, a calendar with reminders, in-app notifications, messaging with project members, and linking a public GitHub repository to browse it. You can group projects under organizations if you like. PDA is under active development, so features may change over time.
Do I need to install an application?
PDA is a web application. You can access the hosted service in a current browser. Its responsive interface also adapts to phones and tablets.
Is PDA free?
PDA is developed as free, open-source software. Our aim is that core features never sit behind a paid plan. If you run it on your own server, the server and hosting costs are yours.
Can I run PDA on my own computer or server?
Yes. PDA is open source and can run on your own infrastructure. The backend and database start with Docker, and the interface runs with Next.js. The steps are in the README file in the GitHub repository. On your own installation, storing and backing up the data is your responsibility.
Which license is PDA released under?
Apache License 2.0. It allows you to use, modify and distribute the software, and sets conditions such as keeping the copyright and license notices. You can find a summary and the full text on the License page.
How do I create an account?
Open the registration link on the sign-in screen and fill in the e-mail, nickname and password fields. A six-digit verification code is sent to your e-mail address; once you enter it your account is activated and you are signed in. The registration form links to the KVKK Privacy Notice and the Privacy Policy; these are information, and there is no separate consent checkbox.
Can I sign in with Google or GitHub?
You can use Google or GitHub when that provider is enabled in the hosted service. An existing account with the same email is not automatically merged; linking may require signing in to your existing account first.
Projects and teams
How do I create my first project?
After signing in, use the create project action in Projects. Fill in the name, type and required fields; you can also add technology, description and logo details. You become the first project manager of the project you create.
What is an organization, and do I have to use one?
An organization is a group that keeps related projects together, for example for a club or a delivery team. It is optional; you can also keep projects independent. Only the owner can edit an organization. An archived organization no longer accepts new projects, and archiving cannot be undone.
How do project membership and team membership differ?
Project membership controls access and project roles. Teams organise work within a project. Joining a team does not itself grant manager permissions; actions are checked against project roles.
How do I invite my teammates?
Create a team in the project's Teams area and use the add member or invitation action. Project managers can invite a user or an email address. Each invitation belongs to a team and must be accepted by its recipient.
Where can I accept or reject invitations?
Registered users can review incoming invitations in Invitations. An external invitation link may lead through registration or sign-in. Respond with the intended account; ask the project manager for a new invitation if yours has expired or been cancelled.
Can everyone see my projects?
Creating an account does not grant access to other users' projects. Project data is shown according to active membership and permissions. Some information, such as your email and username, is visible to members you work with; a public GitHub repository may already be publicly accessible on GitHub.
Are success criteria the same as tasks?
Success criteria are a checklist of delivery goals. Tasks track work, assignments and statuses. Completing a criterion does not automatically complete tasks; the two areas are separate.
What are sprints, the board and the task pool for?
A sprint splits work into time boxes and shows progress on a burndown chart. The board lets you drag tasks between status columns; you can only drop them on allowed transitions. The task pool lists tasks nobody has been assigned yet; a task you take on is assigned to you.
Does the GitHub connection change my code?
The current repository connection reads a public GitHub repository and displays recent commits. It does not commit code or open pull requests. Private repositories are outside this connection's scope.
Accounts and privacy
I forgot my password. What should I do?
Use the Forgot password link on the sign-in screen. A code is sent to your e-mail address; enter it and choose a new password. E-mail depends on the service's configuration; check your inbox and spam folder. For the password of your Google or GitHub account, use that provider's recovery flow.
What does Remember me store?
This option only remembers your email address in this browser. It does not store your password or extend your session. Avoid it on shared devices; turn it off on a subsequent sign-in to clear the remembered email.
How do I delete my account or get access to my data?
You can delete your account yourself on the account screen: you confirm with a one-time link sent to your e-mail and your own sign-in credentials, and the account is anonymised at once. If you own a project or an organisation, you must first transfer ownership or delete it. For requests such as access, correction or export of your data, choose the category “KVKK / data request” in the contact form or write to info@pd-assistant.com; we reply within 30 days at the latest. Details are in the KVKK Privacy Notice and the Privacy Policy.
Support and contributions
Which languages does PDA support?
The interface offers Turkish, English and German. Use the controls at the top to change language and light/dark theme preferences.
How can I report a bug or accessibility barrier?
Use the form on the Contact page to send the page address, expected behaviour and reproduction steps. General development suggestions can also be shared in the GitHub repository. Do not post personal data, passwords, verification codes or vulnerability details in public issues.
Can I contribute to the project?
Yes, contributions are welcome. You can open an issue, suggest a feature or submit a change in the GitHub repository. If you would like to reach us directly, our contact details are on the About us page.
